FROM BRITISH WATERWAYS TO CANAL AND RIVER TRUST

On the 12th July two members of Stafford Boat Club Stella Machin Hon. Secretary

and Joe Lockwood Hon. Treasurer were invited to the Ceremonial cutting of the

ribbon to acknowledgethe transition from British Waterways to

Canal and River Trust. The ribbon cutting was made by Peter Mathews Chair

of West Midlands Waterways Partnership. (Photo below) 

After the ribbon cutting all the invited visitors were transported by boat to the Ikon Gallery

for the speeches and cutting of a cake. There was also a recorded message from

His Royal Highness The Prince Charles who is the Patron of CRT

 First Boat Club to have Defibrillator

At the recent 'Rock Bottom' Heartbeat evening we were presented with our very own 'AED' defibrillator by Duncan Parsonage of West Midlands Ambulance Service. This had been donated by a charity aptly named 'Heartbeat UK',which is funded solely by voluntary contributions. Together with the £250 raised by our Fundraising team with their fantastic Pirates of Deptmoor evening, we have raised a total of £873. From this we hope to purchase a suitable external cabinet to house it in and to send what is left to the Heartbeat UK charity. A big thank you to all those who supported the evening.
